So, here we are

With a brand-new internet blog, though I probably won't use it much after this class is finished, to be honest. Well, perhaps I will...I never know what I'm going to do from one day to the next.

I guess a few things about myself could be said here. I am a long-time resident at Eastern Michigan University--part-time depending on how much cash I have on hand from semester to semester. I should be finishing up fairly soon, however, hopefully graduating at the end of the year with a degree in Music Education. I am a musician by trade; I play quite a few instruments including the Bassoon, Violin and Guitar. In regards to the latter, I am a huge rock music fan and have a band called the Senate. We enjoy writing our own brand of music to play around Detroit from time to time...come see us if you ever get a chance!

I like to do many things other than play music, like LISTEN to it! I collect records (yes, Vinyl) as well as CDs. I also like to play videogames. I enjoy visual art, especially contemporary art, and the symphony, especially modern orchestral works. I love pavement; I could never live outside of a city. I need to be amongst culture, flavor, people and an urban environment. I grew up in Detroit and went to high school downtown before moving to Rochester, New York for a number of years. After returning to Detroit, I decided to come to Eastern. Currently, I commute from the very northeasternmost point of Dearborn...basically I could throw a baseball and hit Detroit.

Anyway, that's enough about me for the time being.

Okay, I was going to mention something about being married to a musician, but then I got to this sentence, "I love pavement." I've never heard it described quite like that.
Will you be keeping us up to date on any gigs in the area?
